WHAT WE DO

Our American committee and Canadian Foundations were created in the mid 1980’s, and operates in the Former Soviet Union to spread the light of the Torah in a part of the world that was cut off from mainstream world Jewry for many years. Vast areas spanning fourteen countries in Eastern Europe and Asia contained the scattered remains of dwindling Jewish communities where the practice of Judaism was forbidden under the Soviet regime. These communities were all but lost to the Jewish nation as they sorely lacked any semblance of Jewish tradition, Torah education and rabbinical leadership.

Our American Committee and Canadian Foundations were established to restore a sense of Jewish identity in these isolated areas and it has fulfilled this mission by introducing Jewish education, providing social welfare, imparting spiritual guidance and infusing Torah, mitzvoth and yiddishkeit wherever Jews are found.
